In a strategic move to provide educational opportunities for indigent students who attended public schools, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe, has revealed the government's plan to sponsor select indigenes to study medicine in Egypt.

The announcement came during the commissioning of a borehole project in Radda village by the Abuja-based Charity organization, NEAR Foundation. Alh. Jobe emphasized the significance of this initiative, ensuring that students from each of the 34 local government areas of the state are given the chance to participate in the foreign medical study program.

Highlighting health as a top priority for the Governor Dikko Umaru Radda-led administration, Alh. Lawal Jobe shared that the recent official trip to the United States by Governor Radda resulted in a substantial donation of 10 containers of medical equipment valued at about N2 billion to the state government.

Expressing gratitude, Alh. Jobe acknowledged the NEAR Foundation for their ongoing water project in Radda community. The foundation, led by Chairman Muhammad Abubakar, is also organizing a medical outreach at Charanci Comprehensive Health Centre, extending its philanthropic efforts to Ingawa local government.

Assuring the continuity of their programs, Abubakar pledged scholarship opportunities for outstanding Katsina students. In his closing remarks, the Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar, conveyed appreciation to the charity organization for their impactful water project.
